The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Gary Muehlhausen can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Ken
Condolence: Please accept my deepest sympathy at this difficult time. The Bible provides comfort with the promise of a resurrection of the dead. Isaiah 26:19 “Your dead will live. My corpses will rise up. Awake and shout joyfully, You residents in the dust! For your dew is as the dew of the morning, And the earth will let those powerless in death come to life. “He wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4 My thoughts and prayers are with family and friends.

Condolence: To my cousins Glen, Bonnie, and Ray, and their extended families: I am profoundly saddened by your/our loss of Gary. He was such a great person, who had a great personality and a heart of gold, always trying to help the underdog and the down and out. We're all going to miss him terribly. We all had good times with him we'll cherish and remember forever. Sorry I won't be at the Celebration, but my heart and sympathy will be with you and your families.
Sincerely/love you guys, Larry Giebelhaus

Condolence From: Greg
Condolence: Gary and I (and a lot of other faithful workers) worked closely together from sometime in the 1970s to sometime in the late 1990s at the Brainerd State Hospital...for some of them, maybe later.

Our job was to serve developmentally disabled peoples' physical, emotional, and intellectual needs.

I think Gary would agree: Our single greatest challenge during that period happened in about 1982 when the AFSCME union decided to strike. The Union's action created lots of extra work, tears, joy, and disappointment. We all endured it together.

What a privilege it was to know Gary and spend time with him.
