Phil passed away October 24, 2017. He was born June 21, 1934 in Springfield, MN, to Arion and Rowene Anderson Forster. Phil graduated from Springfield High School, then he attended the College of St. Thomas and the University of Minnesota. Phil earned the Eagle Scout ranking in Boy Scouts. He owned and operated a family furniture business, Forster Furniture, in many communities. He was one of the co-founders of the Springfield JC’s. When Phil retired, he lived on Gull Lake in Brainerd, MN. Later on he moved to Florida. He was involved in property investment and management. He loved playing cards, deep sea fishing, motorsports and was a life-long Viking fan.
Phil is survived by his sister, Karen Kuritz of Oakdale and Crosslake MN and nephew, Steve Kuritz (Jennifer) of Long Beach CA and nieces Kathy Peterson (John) of Bloomington MN, Mary Kuritz (Ann) of Minneapolis MN and Amy Langevin (Jeremy) of Excelsior MN and great nephews and nieces, cousins and friends. He is also survived by ex-wife, Elaine Forster and grandchildren Jeffrey McNeill and Lucy Simmons.
