Obituary for Luella Knutson

Luella Knutson
Luella Eileen (Barg) (Bell) Knutson went to be with Christ our Lord on Thursday, September 7, 2017, at the CentraCare Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

Luella was born August 26, 1934 in Manson, Iowa and was the daughter of William and Theresa (Schienbein) Barg. She was widowed by Marvin Bell and later in life by Edwin Knutson.

She received her LPN nursing degree at the Brainerd Vocational Technical Institute and worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Brainerd where she lovingly served her community for many years. Luella generously cared for each and every patient.

Luella captured life’s greatest moments through her passion of photography and if she wasn’t behind her camera, she would spend time nurturing her vegetable and flower gardens. She found joy in her daily phone conversations with family and friends discussing birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, and all family events near and far. Luella loved dancing, cutting coupons and mailing out greeting cards. Luella was an avid reader and loved books. She fulfilled her dream of living the farm life. She cherished her loved ones be it her child, niece, nephew, granddaughter, grandson, in-law, neighbor or someone in her church or community.

She will be remembered as a devoted Christian, her church homes thru out the years included St. John’s Lutheran, Motley, Maple Hill Lutheran, Pine River, and Swan Valley Lutheran, Leader.

She is survived by her children, Kay (Leon) Trout, Sue (Steve) Jacobs, Amy (Ron) Dvorak, Roy (Tammy) Bell and Les (Janene) Bell. Her beloved granddaughters Lisa (Trout) English, Amanda (Trout) Winter, Katie Bell, Cody (Bell) Warmbold, Taylor Jacobs, Sierra Milbradt, Kassandra Myers, Jenna Heidemann, Alexa Heidemann and Emma Bell. Her devoted grandsons Michael Dvorak, Colin Jacobs, Ryan Bell, Nathan Dvorak, Lee Bell, Cody Milbradt, Sam Bell and Owen Bell. Great grandchildren Cullen English, Ryker Zdan, Reece English, Camden Winter, Lila English, Covin Winter, Deveyn Milbradt and Landon Nelson.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, William & Theresa Barg, daughter Lyn Bell, daughter-in-law Mary Bell, grandson Ty Bell and granddaughter Tina Bell.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2017, at the Motley Free Methodist Church, 33 Wellwood Street, Motley, Minnesota, 56466. Visitation at 10:00 a.m., service at 11:00 a.m., internment immediately following at the Motley Public Cemetery, followed by a luncheon served in the church fellowship hall.

Memorial donations may be made to the Luella Knutson Family. You may send flowers as tribute to the Motley Free Methodist Church, 33 Wellwood Street, Motley, Minnesota, 56466.

A special thank you to Amazing Love for their special compassion and caretaking during the end of Luella’s journey.
